Looking Ahead, Finding Equanimity

This time of year is a unique opportunity to reflect on the year that has passed & what you have learned, as well as look ahead on what is to come, including new beginnings.

It is a chance to slow down and also remember the joy in being – the real peace and equanimity that comes with resting and remembering our true nature, that which lies beyond our goals and aspirations and yet is always available to us.

Hokusai says Look carefully.
He says pay attention, notice.
He says keep looking, stay curious.
He says there is no end to seeing…

Contentment is life living through you.
Joy is life living through you.
Satisfaction and strength
are life living through you.
Peace is life living through you.

He says don’t be afraid.
Don’t be afraid.
Look, feel, let life take you by the hand.
Let life live through you.

2024 Reflection Prompts

With this in mind, I offer these reflection prompts for you:

What are some wonderful moments that stood out for you in 2023?
It is so important to celebrate the times in which doors have opened and things have flowed well.
Take time to acknowledge your achievements and the ways in which you have kept your word to yourself and really followed through on what you set out to do.

What challenges did you overcome and what did you learn from them? Remembering the times when we were brave can give us the confidence to keep working on the things that are important to us in the year ahead, even when it gets hard.

What relationships made you feel most loved and supported? Acknowledging that people that really nourish and uplift and support us is really important. Having these people in our lives is essential in this journey of being human.

Looking ahead to 2024

What daily practices or rituals help you come back to a sense of yourself?

Prioritizing your mental and physical health is key to navigating the year with energy and resilience.

What new priorities are you going to focus on?

This could be a goal, but it could also be about identifying more time to rest and take care of yourself as well.

What values do you want to hold close to you as you start this new year?

Remembering our values and what is most important to us will help us feel guided as we enter this new year.

Thanks for supporting Sacred Circles!

Happy new year everyone! I just want to share my gratitude and thanks for all of your love and support.

It was a big year for Sacred Circles – I co-hosted my first 3 day retreat, as well as a circle to guide and support people working in the field of Climate Change. It was also great to enjoy a mini-retreat with this beautiful community in Broad Cove this fall.

I’ve had to take lots of deep breaths this past year, and be really brave in putting more of myself and my work out into the world and I’m very happy to say that it has been received really positively.

It feels like the work that I’m truly put here to do in this world and I’m so incredibly grateful to you for playing along with me.

I look forward to seeing you in 2024, with more offerings to come!
