Maybe we don’t need to push harder · Sacred Circles Newsletter

“There is more to life than increasing its speed.”
– Mahatma Gandhi
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how easy it is to spend months – or honestly, years – moving through life on sheer momentum.
Holding things together.
Managing responsibilities.
Showing up for work, family, community, relationships… while quietly wondering when we actually get to rest or hear ourselves think again.
Ha.
I’ve definitely been feeling some of that myself lately.
And what I keep coming back to is this:
I don’t think we reconnect with ourselves by forcing harder or adding more pressure.
Usually it happens in smaller, quieter moments.
A walk outside.
A few deep breaths before rushing into the next thing (often in my car).
A swim.
A few minutes of journaling.
A short meditation.
A moment of stillness before bed.
Not massive.
Not perfect.
Just small daily practices that slowly help us feel a little more grounded, steady, and connected to ourselves again.
I think a lot of people believe they need hours of practice, a perfectly calm life (my own wishful thinking sometimes!), or some ideal routine in order to feel okay.
But honestly, I don’t think that’s true.
What I’m learning – both personally and through the circles and offerings I create – is that even small moments of presence and care can begin to change the way we move through our lives.
Not by escaping life or pretending everything is balanced…
But by learning how to meet life with a little more awareness, compassion, and support.
That’s a big part of the inspiration behind the new Lakeside Retreat I’m planning.
Gentle practices. Deep rest. Real connection.
A space for reflection, meaningful conversation, time in nature, nourishing food, movement, rest… and room to simply be human again for a little while.
Not a high-performance wellness retreat.
Not another thing to achieve.
Just a chance to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and reconnect with what matters.
The waitlist is now open if you’d like to hear more as details unfold:

I’m also preparing a free online masterclass connected to my upcoming digital course, focused on simple practices for grounding, reflection, nervous system support, and reconnecting with yourself in everyday life.
If that speaks to you, you can join that waitlist here too:

And wherever this finds you today, I hope you can give yourself permission to pause once in a while instead of constantly pushing through.
Here’s a simple 5-minute practice to support you along the way – a gentle guided pause with a little breathing, a moment to check in with yourself, and one simple reflection question:
What do I need to know today?
A quiet invitation to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with your own inner wisdom.
A few quiet minutes really can matter.
