Looking Back Over the Year and Stitching Together What Will Nourish and Fortify You in 2025
Why not believe in magic?
Can I soften? Can I soften some more?
What’s the next nice thing
I can do for someone else?
How might I be more river, less dam?
Can I ask without longing for answers?
What if I say nothing and listen?
Will I choose awe today?
Excerpts from the poem: Questions for the New Year
January 1, 2024 by Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer
How are you?
It is so good to pause and enjoy this beautiful time for year, reflecting on what was… and savoring the hospitality and the gentleness that the holidays can bring.
What quiet joy, loving peace, and pockets of happiness have you found over the past 12 months?
And what has been difficult and challenging for you as well?
2024 was a hard year for me in many ways, yet one in which I have also flourished and grown in many ways as well. I co-facilitated several wonderful events, including a retreat for those working in climate change and land conservation at Milford House, truly a dream come true. There have been challenges and triumphs as our family has navigated life’s twists and turns together and it was a tender letting go to watch my daughter graduate and ‘fly the roost’. I’m so happy for her though and this new chapter in life.
I will remember the special moments, like time on the lake with my Mom & family, as well as a road trip to the Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee where we laughed and marveled at nature’s wonders.. and I will carry with me those little moments as well – the way soft light hits the water, or how snow really does glisten in the afternoon light… as well as remembering how the beauty of quiet mornings can carry me through any day.
Free 15-minute meditation, breathwork and guided visualisation practise
Enjoy this free 15-minute meditation, breathwork and guided visualisation to help you remember joy and alignment, discovering what you want to carry forward with you into 2025. It is a beautiful practise that gives you an opportunity to look back on the past year and stitch together the good memories – the moments where you felt aligned and joyful, where you were “in the flow” and feeling complete… so that you can have the opportunity to carry that with you into the new year, offering you a baseline for how your own inner alignment feels.
It is a simple and beautiful practise that you can come back to again and again, nourishing yourself and bringing yourself back to a sense of peace and contentment, no matter what else might be going on in your life.
Community Connection Virtual Circle
Please join me for a Community Connection virtual circle on Saturday January 4th at 10am. These will happen about once a month, so we can build a steady sense of support & community together. There will be nourishing practises including a short meditation and/or Yoga Nidra, as well as time to practise listening and being together in a circle.
So together, let’s close out 2024 by lifting each other up, sharing our stories and supporting each other on Saturday January 4th. Pay what you can. ($15-18 is the suggested price, but no one will be turned away). Bring a journal and pen. Pre-registration is here.
These virtual circles will be designed to support you through the times that we are living in, giving you a chance to reflect, recharge and finish the year with intention.
